There are many agent harnesses but this one has a slug
A terminal coding agent inspired by Neovim.

## Why Lug
Agents write most of our code now. We gained a pair programmer that never gets tired, and all the hours we used to spend configuring Neovim instead of working. We lost the editor we spent years making our own. Lug tries to give that part back.
- Modes, not a text box. The prompt has normal, insert and visual modes, with
motions, operators, text objects and counts.
ci(works. So does2d3w. - Commands, not skills.
:model,:sessions,:haul, and any you add withlug.cmd.set. You drive Lug the way you drove Vim. - Lua all the way down. Not just keymaps: the layout, the statusline, the pickers and how the transcript is drawn. Don't like a piece? Replace it.
- A distro, not a product. The stock setup, basic.lug, is a plugin like any other. Keep it, fork it or start from nothing.
### Why not a Neovim plugin?
It has been done, and done well: if you want an agent inside Neovim, go and try avante.nvim. A plugin has to fit inside Neovim though, so it has to decide how you work with the agent. Lug starts from the agent and leaves the rest to you.
None of this would exist without vi, Vim and Neovim. Lug is Lug and Neovim is Neovim, but I'd like the two to get along, and some ideas for that are already underway.
